Board-certified thoracic surgeon Francisco Tarrazzi, M.D., has joined Memorial Healthcare System’s Division of Thoracic Surgery. In his new role, Tarrazzi will see patients throughout Memorial Healthcare System, and he joins Mark Block, Chief of Thoracic Surgery, to help expand the general thoracic surgery program.
Tarrazzi, who’s board certified in both general and thoracic surgery, recently completed a fellowship in advanced thoracic and minimally invasive surgery at the Heart, Lung and Esophageal Surgery Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Prior to that, he completed his residency in cardiothoracic surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, and he completed his general surgery residency with Pinnacle Health System in Harrisburg, Pa. He received his degree in medicine and surgery from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela.
During his training, Tarrazzi completed two surgical missions with the World Surgical Foundation, Inc.: one in Romblon, Philippines, and the other in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
