Meredith A. Brown

Meredith A. Brown was the founder and editor-in-chief of Hollywood Gazette, which was launched in September 2001. The successful formula of the free, direct-mail, city-specific monthly was a result of Meredith’s unusual vantage point of the publishing market as a managing editor for the Sun-Sentinel (1997-2001), where she managed community news sections for six cities.

She earned a B.A. in Mass Communications and Journalism from the University of Hartford in 1993. She has sat on the board of the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce since 2001 and was named the organization’s Small Business Person of the Year in 2006. Her historic support for not-for-profits mainly for the homeless, the arts and at-risk youth is reflective in her contributions to Broward Outreach Center, Jubilee Kitchen, Boys and Girls Club and the Art & Culture Center of Hollywood. She has had a passion for Israel and Middle East issues which dates back to her college stint at Ben Gurion University and involvement with AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee).

Her interests and hobbies include travel, current events, politics and an on-going appetite for knowledge and self actualization.
