Temari is the art of embroidering the surface of a ball. This workshop will explore the traditional Japanese craft of Temari by familiarizing students with basic elements and technique involved with creating a simple Temari design. The instructor will assist the participants to create at least one finished piece as well as motivate them to further pursue this beautiful intriguing art form. Make your own special Temari ball to decorate for the holidays or as a gift to a special person. Material Fee: $15 payable to instructor for Temari Starter Kit. Participants must bring sewing scissors and a pin cushion. Time: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Part 1), 12 – 1 p.m. (Break), 1 – 3 p.m. (Part 2) Cost: $50 Advance registration required.
