Hollywood Police respond to fatal domestic disturbance

On Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 3:15 a.m., the Hollywood Police Department responded to the 1300 block of North 72 Ave, Hollywood in reference to a domestic disturbance.

The suspect advised Dispatch he fatally shot his wife in the house and he was armed and would shoot anyone who approached the residence.

Upon arrival, contact was made with the suspect who was behaving erratically.  The suspect exited the residence where a confrontation ensued with police officers.  The suspect was subsequently shot by an officer. The suspect was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Officers made entry to the residence and found the victim to be deceased. Victim identification is pending notification of next of kin.
