New Young Circle Hotel Announces Contest for Local Artists

Locals Artists Have Opportunity to Have Work Featured in New Downtown Hollywood Hotel

Local artists have been invited to have their artwork featured in the new Downtown Hollywood CIRC Hotel, a 12-story modern boutique hotel set to open on Young Circle in early 2018.

Inspired by the area’s burgeoning arts scene, the CIRC is curating a collection of nearly a dozen pieces created by South Florida artists that will be displayed in the hotel’s lobby and meeting space. The pieces will be offered for sale to the public. Artists will receive all proceeds from the sale, along with free, ongoing exposure.

“CIRC Hotel has been designed to reflect Downtown Hollywood’s unique, culture-centric personality,” said General Manager Kara Lundgren. “These special works of art will carry that theme through the hotel lobby and into our meeting rooms, creating an environment that is as unique as the hotel and Downtown Hollywood itself.”

Artists may choose their mediums and creative options; however, all artwork must be original and ready-to-wall-mount. Submissions can either be the actual artwork or an image of the piece. There is no limit on the number of submissions.

To be considered, artists must select their first and second choices for where the pieces are to be displayed. Area spaces (wall width x wall height) include:

  • Area #1: 21 ft. x 5 ft.
  • Area #2: 8 ft. x 5 ft.
  • Area #3: 14 ft. x 5 ft.
  • Area #4: 7 ft. x 5 ft.
  • Area #5: 15.5 ft. x 9 ft.
  • Area #6: 13 ft. x 9 ft.
  • Area #7: 11 ft. x 9 ft.
  • Area #8: 6.9 ft. x 21 ft.
  • Area #9: 23 ft. x 21 ft.
  • Area #10: 23 ft. x 9 ft.
  • Area #11: 18 ft. x 9 ft.

Artistic submissions are being accepted until 5 p.m. Monday, December 11 via email at [email protected] or at the CIRC Hotel Office: 1844 Polk Street, Hollywood, FL 33020. For a CIRC Hotel branding package or any questions, please email [email protected]. Winners will be notified by Friday, Jan. 5.
