Koffee Kult Gourmet Coffee Roaster Relocates to Downtown Hollywood

Gourmet coffee roaster Koffee Kult recently relocated its operations to an expanded facility in Downtown Hollywood, where a state-of- the-art process is utilized in roasting the finest coffee beans from around the world.

Koffee Kult first opened in 2011 in western Hollywood and moved its headquarters Oct. 1 to 311 S. 21st Ave., where coffee beans are prepared for packaging using its new top-of- the-line Loring Roaster.

During the roasting process, the flavors of green coffee beans are developed into the fresh coffee beans sold to consumers. The smokeless Loring Roaster locks in more flavor than conventional roasters, creating a higher-quality, fresh coffee bean. Because no afterburner is involved, this eco-friendly roaster uses 80 percent less fuel than more traditional equipment and emits less greenhouse gas, which helps protect both operators and the local air quality.

What started as a weekend hobby for Koffee Kult founder Jamie Mardis, a coffee lover intent on creating the perfect cup of joe, became a passion that grew into a successful business providing some of the best coffee available to many South Florida boutique coffee shops and individual java aficionados alike.

“Koffee Kult is more than simply providing authentic artisanal coffee to enthusiasts and modern coffee shops. We are an active participant in the coffee cult movement of pure coffee brewing style and bringing value back to great coffee that cannot be franchised,” Mardis said.

Koffee Kult acquires the highest-grade premium coffee beans from growers in more than 50 countries, including Arabica beans from Indonesia, Africa, and Central and South America. The company’s attention to quality includes the meticulous hand-selection of green beans for roasting and the hand-packaging of the extensive selection of coffee varieties that include Bourbon Barrel Aged Burundi Coffee, Tanzania Peaberry, and Koffee Kult Eye Cracker Espresso Beans.

Mardis said the historic downtown arts, music and entertainment district is a natural fit for his business.
“Downtown Hollywood is an up-and- coming arts district. We chose our new location to be near this artistic activity,” he said. “As a roaster of small-batch premium coffee, we are artisans of our craft.”
