Members of the North Central Hollywood Civic Association got together recently at the Lippman Center to socialize and discuss issues concerning their neighborhood. One of the main concerns discussed speeding and congestion traffic on 28th Avenue.

Hollywood Traffic Engineer Rick Mitinger gave a report on the situation and fielded residents’ questions. A study had been completed on traffic on the street, recording the speeds of cars. The research found there are about 63,000 cars a week on the street and that while some of the cars travel over the speed limit most drive at or near the speed limit. Some residents questioned the findings and others said they wanted more police traffic enforcement on 28th Avenue.

It is believed that some of the cars are using the street as a short cut to avoid congested major roads.
