Feeding South Florida’s “Outrun Hunger 5k” Returns to Hollywood Broadwalk February 24th

More than 500 people are expected at the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk on the morning of February 24th to “take steps to end hunger in South Florida” when they take off at the 8th Annual Feeding South Florida Outrun Hunger 5K, presented this year by JM Family Enterprises, Inc.

Feeding South Florida, a member of the Feeding America® network of food banks and the leading domestic hunger-relief organization serving Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties, invites runners  at all levels to join the event.  You can register here: fsfoutrunhunger5k.eventbrite.com, either as an individual or as part of a team.

For every registration of the Outrun Hunger 5k event, $20, Feeding South Florida can provide 120 meals.

By raising $50, you can help provide 300 meals, and also receive an official Outrun Hunger 5k t-shirt.

Feeding South Florida rescues 46 million pounds of food annually, serving 710,370 individuals in need of food assistance — 248,080 of whom are children and 120,000 are older adults.

The proceeds will not only go towards ending hunger throughout South Florida, but will also help create awareness throughout the community and help your neighbors in need.

The event will take place  on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 7:30 a.m – 9:30 a.m.   It begins at Charnow Park,  1500 N Broadwalk, at Garfield Street.
