What does INSIGHTS mean to you?  INSIGHTS is the theme of the first annual TEDxYoungCirclePark, a big event scheduled for Saturday, April 21 and created to demonstrate how our community insights can make a difference in the world.

TED (which stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design) is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.

TEDxYoungCirclePark was formed by Thomas Gibson and a group of enthusiastic individuals to allow our community to have a stage to share their ideas and make a difference. This group comes from varying backgrounds with the same goal in mind.   TEDxYoungCirclePark will act as a platform for speakers to voice these ideas and inspire others. It will also enable speakers to share personal experiences, concepts, and talents in a public forum.

This event is designed to amaze all those who attend, and encourage discussion and debate to communities far beyond our own. Whether you are on the stage or in the audience, please come and share your ideas.

About TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

TEDxYoungCirclePark will be held on Saturday, April 21, from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm, at the Conference Center at Memorial Regional Hospital at 3501 Johnson Street.   This brand new state-of-the-art venue will host a highly talented group of speakers who will bring energy, creativity, joy, and wonder to the TEDxYoungCirclePark stage. With their Insights, they will explore a wide range of provocative topics ranging from technology, education, design, music, social reform, art, and more.

Tickets are $75 and include valet parking, entrance to the event, continental breakfast, a light lunch and a VIP reception.
