Davie Resident Joins MHS from Nova Southeastern University

The Memorial and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundations have announced that Kim Carbo, Ed.D. has been named the director of community development.  In her new post, Carbo will be responsible for leading the foundation’s IMPACT Young Ambassadors program, which involves young professionals and local leaders in networking, philanthropy, and community investment. In that role, she will direct major donor stewardship outreach through activities and social events. Carbo will also work collaboratively with community organizations to support fundraising initiatives.

The Davie resident joins Memorial Healthcare System after spending 14 years with Nova Southeastern University’s Department of Athletics, most recently serving as assistant athletic director for marketing, development, and fundraising. While at NSU, Carbo was responsible for creating and implementing strategies to increase fan attendance, revenue, and both internal and external support for each of the school’s 17 intercollegiate teams.

Carbo, who was born at Memorial Regional Hospital, is a graduate of The Ohio State University and was a member of its varsity women’s soccer team. She subsequently earned a master’s degree in sports management and a doctorate degree in organizational leadership from NSU.

The Memorial and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundations raise funds philanthropically to assist patients, families, and to underwrite the cost of programs, facilities, and equipment within the Memorial Healthcare System (www.mhs.net).
