Commission agrees to one year action plan on spending federal funds

The Hollywood Commission agreed to a resolution for a one year action plan on the spending of federal money to be used for improvements in Hollywood.

Hollywood has been designation as an entitlement city by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and HUD has mandated that these cities submit a consolidated plan including a one-year action plan which governs housing and community development needs in the city. The resolution involves the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the Home Investment Partnerships Act (HOME) Grant.

HUD has allocated $1,213,339 in CDBG funds to the city and staff has estimated that the City will receive $100,000 in CDBG Program income. HUD has allocated $553,052 in HOME funds to the City and staff has estimated the City will receive $55,000 in HOME Program income.

This is the breakdown on how the money will be appropriated for the one year action plan.

  • Septic to Sewer Assistance: $328,633.06
  • Debt Service – FFGFC: $101,129.00
  • Capital Improvement: $36,818.74
  • Neighborhood Beautification: $136,606.40
  • Hispanic Unity, Inc.: $14,927.00
  • HOPE South Florida, Inc.: $12,050.00
  • Russell Life Skills, Inc.: $18,046.00
  • Second Chance, Inc.: $10,700.00
  • Women in Distress, Inc.: $19,277.00
  • Administration: $242,667.80

Total: $1,313,339.00


  • Housing Rehabilitation: $400,789.00
  • CHDO Set-Aside: $79,957.80
  • Tenant-Based Rental Assistance: $54,000.00
  • Administration: $53,305.20

Total: $588,052.00
