Broward County Sheriff Shred-A-Thon/Operation Medicine Cabinet Set for Saturday, February 16

The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) sponsors Shred-A-Thon events throughout the year that are open to all Broward County residents. Events are held at different locations in various cities in Broward County. Their next event will be held on Saturday, February 16th at King’s Point, 7620 Nob Hill Road, in Tamarac from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

The Shred-A-Thon provides residents with a safe way to dispose of their personal documents, check stubs, credit card offers, receipts and any other paperwork that contains sensitive information. The service is free of charge and there’s a limit of five boxes per person. Documents destroyed in BSO’s Shred-A-Thon events are shredded by SafeGuard Document Destruction.

Operation Medicine Cabinet takes place during Shred-A-Thon events. The prescription drug take-back program allows participants to turn in unused or expired prescription medication to receive a $5 gift card provided by the Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County (while supplies last, limit one per family). Operation Medicine Cabinet is a safe way of properly disposing of your medications with no questions asked.
