Hollywood Commission agrees to major purchases

The Hollywood Commission agreed to some major financial actions during a recent meeting.

It agreed to an agreement with Waste Pro of Florida for solid waste collection, recyclables, collection, yard waste/bulk waste disposal for an estimated amount of $9,410,955.

It agreed to a contract with Youngquist Brothers for construction services related to Deep Injection Wells Number Three and Number Four located in the Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in the amount of $39,939,939.

It agreed to a loan application for $20,526,000 for construction funding for the Ocean Outfall Regulatory Deep Injection Wells Project.

  1. I would like to know why there was a backhoe that removed the entire corner of trees and shrubs that ducks, birds and turtles call their home on 40th Avenue north of Sheridan Street. Was this part of the agreement? Will the city replace what was torn down? It was relayed that the foliage was “invasive”.
