Broward to join worldwide climate strike

Dozens of Broward residents will join the worldwide #ClimateStrike called by Greta Thunberg. Youth have been striking from school to demand action on climate change – now, for the first time, they are calling on adults to walk out of their jobs and homes to join the Climate Strike. 
Broward’s event is one of the hundreds of Climate Strike events on September 20th, taking place in over 90 countries worldwide. 

WHAT: Students will protest in front of the Public School district building, right around the corner from the federal courthouse. There will be many speakers that will address the different impacts of climate change on local communities and many notable attendees.At noon, there will be 11 minutes of silence for the 11 years that the IPCC reports we have left until we reach 2 degrees Celcius, a point of no return. Afterward, students and organizers will be available to answer questions about why they are striking.
