Hollywood Hills Marching Band offers a family atmosphere and the chance to play music

Angela Maxion is the new Hollywood Hills band director

The Hollywood Hills High School Marching Band is in a rebuilding phase. Angela Maxion, the new band director, is very enthusiastic and believes the band will improve and grow in size.

“We are doing well and we are a in rebuilding year,” Maxion said. “We have students who are working hard.”

Samantha Singer, is a talented member of the band. She plays the clarinet and likes performing at football games.

“Being in band is really fun,” Singer said. “Everyone gets along. It is like a big family.”

Devin Hardin is an experienced band member. He plays the mellophone. “I like being in the band,” Hardin said. “It has allowed me to make new friends.”

Ian Nunez, the drum major and a flute player said, “I love being the drum major and I love everything about band. It is a lot of fun.”

The Hollywood Hills band performs at home football games and will participate in assessments.
