Hollywood Hills High School has two new assistant principals. Sara Pierce and Shamarli Johnson are now playing a leadership role at the school.

Pierce has about five years of experience at Hollywood Hills. She began as an English teacher and then worked in the guidance department.

Johnson comes from Miramar High School where she taught English and then worked as a behavioral specialist. She also taught English at South Broward High School.

Pierce is excited about her new role at Hollywood Hills. She believes it is important to work hard for the students.

“When I was a teacher I would just jump in and do whatever needed to be done to help the students,” Pierce said. “Now I have to find people to take on these roles. I am excited to be an assistant principal. I am going through a transition and it is a challenge. I want to help the young people at the school to become pillars of the community.”

Johnson also has a passion for helping young people achieve their potential.

“I want to make sure that students have the opportunity to be successful,” Johnson said. “I want to ensure they have the resources to do well in school. I want students who graduate from Hollywood Hills to be successful adults.”
