Port Everglades truck drivers are honored

Truck drivers who operate at Port Everglades were honored with gift bags as they entered through the Port’s security gates. The gift bags include a face mask, hand sanitizer wipes and a cookie shaped like a cruise ship. There was a note from Acting Chief Executive and Port Director Glenn Wiltshire.

“Truck drivers are the backbone of America and the unsung heroes of the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate all you do to keep food, clothing, gasoline and other much needed supplies flowing into our

community, especially during this crisis. Each day at Port Everglades, an estimated 3,900 trucks drive through our security gates to transport goods.

Without you, the supply chain would come to a standstill. We hope this small token of our appreciation brightens your day.

Stay healthy and keep on truckin,’” said Wiltshire.
