Hollywood Beach Will Be Closed on Fourth of July Weekend

The City of Hollywood has joined with Broward County and other coastal cities to temporarily close the beach from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 3rd until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 5.

During this time, businesses along the Broadwalk will remain open with existing restrictions related to facial coverings and capacity limitation. The Broadwalk may only be used to access these establishments.

All recreational uses of the Broadwalk shall be prohibited during this period. In addition, the walking/bicycling area north of North Beach Park from Freedom Street to Perry Street will be closed to recreational use.

Broward County Mayor Dale Holness said: “With the recent uptick in positive COVID-19 cases in Broward County over the past week, closing the beaches over the July 4th holiday weekend is something that must be done in order to protect the health and safety of residents and the public at large. It is the responsible thing to do. We all have to do our part to fight the spread of COVID-19.”
